*"Baby Lessons" by Jennifer Drew. Grand Rapids police detective Nate Dalton catches Becky Ryan breaking and entering the Green Thumb Landscaping and Lawn Care office. She proves she was obtaining her severance check she earlier left behind. He lets her go with a warning, but not before she informs him of a vacancy in her apartment building. He moves in, but they keep their distance until his sister dumps his infant niece on her. With a baby matchmaker to urge them together, they fall in love, but he thinks the petite Becky is a helpless clinging vine like his former girl friend, so he cannot commit to anything lasting. This is a humorous tale that shows the energy level of a youngster is endless, but we love them anyway because little children relish life to the fullest.
*"Too Lucky For Love" by Kate Thomas. In Phoenix, architect Tyler Harding saves the life of a Gypsy. Instead of thanking her savior, Nadja places a curse of good luck on Tyler for doubting her abilities. A different Gypsy has already cursed Nadja's companion Marisa Corelli with bad luck. As Tyler gains a job, a rapid promotion, a large inheritance, two multi-million dollar lottery wins, he hates not earning it. However, he and Marisa find themselves attracted to one another. Will their polar luck curses continue or be canceled by their love for one another? This tale is a jocular comedy that stars two interesting lead characters and several eccentric secondary players who deserve future appearances.
