Bonnie has always been a writer at heart, though she didn't start until later in life. As a child she would often lie awake at night and rewrite the endings of books, television programs, and movies. She always loved to read and transferred that love of reading into a job as an English teacher. After taking a course on how to teach writing to high school students, she discovered that she'd much prefer doing the writing over teaching it, and a new career began.
Though she has been a military dependent all her life, first as an army brat and later as an Air Force wife, she has always considered Alabama her home. She graduated from Marbury High School in Marbury, Alabama, and Troy State University. She has been married to her high school sweetheart, Wayne, for over thirty years. They have two grown sons, one daughter-in-law, and and two very spoiled cats.
Bonnie has used her knowledge of the military life in all of her novels, giving all her heroes and one heroine some connection, either past or present, to the military. Her May 2001 Harlequin American Romance, UNCLE SARGE, introduces the members of Silver Team, an elite group of Air Force Combat Controllers. The series continues with SGT. BILLY'S BRIDE, February 2002, and THE SERGEANT'S SECRET SON, February 2003.
Bonnie's first two books were Silhouette Intimate Moments releases. Stranger in Her Bed was released in July 1997 . (The cover won the ARTemis Award for best cover in the long series contemporary category.) Montoya's Heart was released in March 1998 . Her next book, a short contemporary, Perfect Ten, was published under her maiden name, Bonnie Purcell, and released by Kensington Precious Gems in February 1999. A second Precious Gems, The Man For Me, was released in March 2000 .
