A long-time Arizona resident, Gwynn Morgan(aka Gaye Walton) finds endless inspiration in the exciting history, diverse natural beauty and rich and varied cultural heritage of the southwest.
She the twin wonders of reading and writing in early childhood and recognized immediately the truth seen by her Celtic ancestors a millennia or two earlier, that in words lay the most powerful and potent of magic! She gravitated naturally to writing, following in the footsteps of a father who wrote of outdoor adventures and a mother who penned verse.
At Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona, she obtained a bachelor's and master's degrees in History. with strong minors in Business and English. After a stint as a civilian employee of the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force, she settled into a second career centered on fiction.
An active member of Romance Writers of America, she belongs to Outreach International chapter where she completed her second term as Chapter President in 2001. She is also a member of ESPAN--the new Electronic and Small Press Published Author's Network within RWA, World Romance Writers, Rising Stars of Romance, EPIC and its romance-focused spin-off, AEPRA. Gwynn has had one short story and several poems published in various small periodicals. As the first Director of Outreach's "Clues" coaching program, she wrote and edited the first edition of the Clues handbook for beginning romance writers.
Gwynn lives in a rustic little house in Arizona's Cochise County, the home of Tombstone and Fort Huachuca and an area rich in history and legend. The house is crammed full of books and memorabilia of the busy lives of Gwynn and her husband, a former Marine and police officer who is also a published author. The couple share their home with two canine "kids," Butch and Sadie, for whom they serve as chauffeurs and household staff.
They are active in their local VFW Post and Ladies Auxiliary and within their community.
When not writing, Gwynn can be found bird watching, star gazing, sewing, doing craft and jewelry projects, picking up rocks, photographing flowers, sunsets, birds and scenery, listening to ethnic music, or reading. A self-styled RenaissanceWoman, Gwynn admits to hating to specialize by restricting herself to one or even ten interests.
The author of five books currently available, Gwynn's first novel, Powerful Medicine, was released by Awe-Struck E-Books in August 2001 and in trade paperback by their Earthling Press Division in January 2002. Healing Hearts, her second book, came out in May 2002 from Treble Heart Books. Andy vs. The Colonel was released by Awe-Struck in September 2002. The Man in Black was released by NovelBooks Inc. (NBI) in October 2002, followed in January 2003 by Back to Tomorrow. She has a number of other books now in queue, waiting to debut. Look for A Deal For Love, coming from Hard Shell Word Factory late in 2003 and the first book of the Copper Stars of Cochise trilogy, working title Choices and Chances, from Awe-Struck about the same time. Gwynn's tales vary in time frame and tone, but they all feature her beloved southwest and usually have a bit of ethnic culture or the paranormal woven into the plot.
