Ever notice how it’s fun to talk about yourself but not so fun to write about yourself? (If not, open a file now. Write your bio.) I’ll make the most of my very average life and see if I can hold your interest for a good two minutes. Amy KnuppI’m married, have two sons and four cats. (Yes, sometimes it does seem like the floor is moving!) We live in eastern Kansas. I’ve also lived in Albuquerque, NM, and was born and raised in Des Moines, IA. In my former, pre-kids life, I sold advertising for a couple of major metropolitan newspapers. Seven years in the business was enough to convince me that the corporate world isn’t my happy place, so when my first son was born, I was lucky enough to quit and stay home with him. I spend my days juggling preschoolers and fictitious people in angst over love. I try not to confuse the two groups, but sometimes I find myself scolding my characters as if they were five years old. (In all fairness, sometimes they act like they are!) Besides having an obsession, er, I mean passion, for writing, I love to read. And buy books, which I consider a hobby in itself. I also like to travel with my family and watch (or at least try to keep up with) college basketball. We won't mention a thing about time-wasting video games. I love reading stories with characters who feel real, like I could meet them on the street. I aim to create these kinds of people in my own stories and show a little slice of their lives, including the most important part—falling in love. Everyone knows romance stories have a happily ever after…the fun part is getting there!
