I am originally from way up north in Duluth, Minnesota (for those of you who aren't from the Midwest ... no, Duluth is NOT in Canada. You'd be surprised by how many people ask!), but I've lived much of the past decade in New York City. For a few fabulous months in college, I studied in jolly old England, which gave me many opportunities to travel around Europe. Fun fact: I've been to every Western European country except Luxembourg and Lichtenstein. (And, of course, Genovia and Schwerinborg.*)
I spent a year living in Stockholm, Sweden (and even slept one night inside an Ice Hotel), wore a sari to a wedding in India, danced a jig in Red Square in Moscow, walked on a Norwegian glacier, and was forced to see a bunch of my guy friends in teeny tiny bikinis in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Needless to say, I love to travel and explore new places.
The professional me spent a few years working as a book editor, and also did a little book marketing. I also spent a few months as a cookie inventor, but had to quit after I ate too many (that's maybe not exactly the reason, but it could be -- I do love cookies!). These days, I work at Nickelodeon and write books whenever I can carve out a little free time.
The personal me is married to a great guy named Greg and we have a fabulous baby girl named Milla, who was born in January 2006. When I'm not writing or sleeping or watching reality TV, I spend days walking around Manhattan and having tasty picnics in Central Park.
