Margie Rose Walker has been writing fiction novels since 1988, after leaving the Houston Defender newspaper where she worked as editor and reporter. Prior to leaving the newspaper, she worked at KMJQ-Magic 102 in the Programming Department, upon leaving KTSU FM. There she served as the Program & Public Affairs Directors.
In addition to writing, Margie Walker is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Communications at Texas Southern University, her alma mater. Walker holds both a B.A. and M.A. in Speech Communication, with post-graduate studies from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. A certified secondary teacher, she also substitutes occasionally. She served as Writer-In-Residence with Writers In The Schools (WITS) for eight years.
Margie, a native Texan, resides in Houston with her husband of 24 years, two sons and a ferret.
