Born and raised in Nice, France, I was always fascinated by the English language, even though it was not my strongest subject in school, and dreamed of someday coming to "America."
Once that dream was realized and I learned to speak English, I wasn't satisfied. I wanted to master the language. And I wanted to write. Not in French as I had once hoped to do, but in English. I wanted to write the kind of stories I loved to read -- in those days it was mostly mysteries -- and of course, it was essential that I sound like an American.
Needless to say, the process took years. It wasn't easy, but thanks to some wonderful people who believed in me, I never lost sight of my dream.
Besides France and the U.S., I have lived in Spain, Germany, Morocco, California, Louisiana and Florida. Now a resident of New Jersey, I continue to travel extensively for research and pleasure. I'm married to a wonderful, supportive, and dare I say it, very romantic husband.
