Passionate about yoga, all things Far Eastern and Pekingese dogs, Marie Carroll is certain she must have been Asian in a past life. A former Congressional aide, an iconographer and art-lover, she has volunteered as a docent at museums in San Francisco, Singapore, Bangkok and Philadelphia.
The Tennessee native (and serious Vols fan) began writing as a teenager, but it was a high school reunion that sparked her creative fires anew. When the old class prophecy was read, the girl everyone thought would write the Great American Novel was instead reported to be content building Lego castles with her little boy. That, dear reader, stung! When the little boy went off to school, Marie went off to the computer. Red Phoenix Rising is her first romance.
Today, Marie lives in the Philadelphia suburbs with her husband of thirty-two years and writes about the visual arts (when she’s not in mantua and mobcap, leading walking tours of Historic Philadelphia and Valley Forge).
