When Linda is asked how she met her husband, she always says, "by accident," because on their first date, the couple ended up in a ditch, then in the emergency room of the local hospital in upstate New York. Totaling a car and getting a few stitches didn't bother her. The question of how to tell her very protective dad did! She figured it out and is happy to say that despite the couple's inauspicious beginning, their marriage is going strong with three grown children to prove it!
Although she was always an avid reader, Linda discovered the romance genre as an adult raising a young family in Massachusetts. The emotion and the satisfying endings hooked her. They were also a lifesaver through a long New England winter. One day she found herself sitting at the kitchen table, typewriter in front of her. The reader had become a writer…or was trying to become one!
She enrolled in whatever writing courses were offered in the evenings, either through local colleges or community-sponsored programs. These included two courses in short story writing, another one in family memoir writing, but none in novel writing.
When Linda and her family moved to Texas in 1995, she had no idea how that move would directly relate to her success as a published author. But it did. She joined her local chapter of RWA, attended every writing workshop and conference they sponsored, and wrote, wrote, and wrote some more. She sold her first book to Harlequin in May 2000 and three more shortly thereafter.
When she's not writing, Linda teaches GED classes to homeless adults. She grew up in New York City and is a graduate of Hunter College with a B.A. in sociology and an M.S. in education.
