Marie-Claude Bourque grew up in Québec and spoke nothing but French until she moved to go to college at McGill University. She holds a BS in Physics and a PhD in Oceanography, and worked as a climate research scientist, a scientific translator and a fitness expert until she turned to fiction writing. She draws her inspiration from the French legends of her childhood and a fascination for dark fantasy. A winner of the American Title V, she is a member of the Romance Writer of America and the Science Fiction & Fantasy Writer of America. She is currently settled with her family in Seattle, Washington.
