Librarian Emily Dennison loves history. Despondent over the death of her fiancé, she visits Arizona where a thunderstorm catapults her into Tombstone, Arizona in 1889. She finds life there far from the peaceful existence she envisioned. Meeting newspaperman Zachary Tremaine, she gets involved in rescuing his sister from an abusive paramour, falls in with bank robbers and has more adventures than she ever imagined. Though attracted to Zach, she's sure she can't be a perfect nineteenth century lady or endure life without hot showers, washing machines, stereo music and her computer--she really wants to go back to 2000!
Zach is fascinated by Emily. Though her strange manners trouble him, her spunky responses to hardship earn his admiration. Just when he thinks he's won her, she vanishes with a bolt of lightening, leaving him confused and bereft. Reappearing to take a bullet meant for him, she draws him into her era.. How can he live in a world of jet planes, the Internet and other marvels Emily takes for granted? Can these two soul mates trust their love and select a time to make their own?
