Laura Abbot, Harlequin Superromance® author, is proof that dreams can come true. After twenty-five years as a high school English teacher in Kansas and Oklahoma, she and her husband moved in 1992 to Arkansas where Laura devotes herself full-time to her writing. The 1995 publication of her first book, MATING FOR LIFE, launched Laura's career as a romance author.
A member of Romance Writers of America since 1993, Laura is an entertaining and informative speaker who has presented programs at conferences in Kansas City, Dallas, and Branson and has been a featured speaker for writers' groups in several states. In addition to her RWA affiliation, she belongs to Novelists, Inc., Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers and several RWA affiliate chapters. "Naturally it's great fun to be published, but the best part is all the wonderful people I've met--readers, fellow writers, and publishing professionals," Laura comments.
Laura's Beaver Lake home provides a welcome retreat for four grown children and their families, including--at last count--thirteen grandchildren! And when she's not busy writing or being Nana? Count on it, she's reading!
