Author Lois Richer made her debut in 1997 with the launch of Steeple Hill. Today, with over a dozen titles and well over half a million books in print worldwide, Richer continues to build a huge fan base through her inspirational work. Twice a finalist for the prestigious Holt Medallion — Honoring Outstanding Literary Talent — Richer has also been nominated by Romantic Times Magazine for Best Love Inspired Book of 2001. In 2002 she won second place in the Inspirational Reader's Choice Contest sponsored by the Faith, Hope and Love chapter of Romance Writers of America (RWA). She participated in Hometown Tales — Storytellers Collection II which supports Prison Fellowship Ministries through its royalties.
A member of RWA for six years, Lois has attended and volunteered at five national conferences as well as numerous workshops across the country. She has attended Mount Hermon, CBA and other national writing events. Lois has been instrumental in building a local writer's group, organized contests for her writing chapter, critiqued extensively and spoken widely throughout the province. She's also taught community college classes on writing. Instigator of the infamous "Tips" column from industry professionals, as featured on the Faith, Hope and Love chapter web site, Lois resigned a year ago to devote more time to the Saskatchewan Writer's Guild.
Lois began writing full-time in 1996. A former human resources manager for a national chain, she found success as an entrepreneur, then sold her business to concentrate more fully on writing. Lois traveled extensively throughout Europe before attaining a bachelor of arts from the University of Manitoba.
Lois and her husband have two teenage sons. She enjoys performing with a vocal group, working at her pottery wheel and traveling across North America, though she insists the Saskatchewan prairie will always be home.
