This book was a harsh reminder and a wake up call to parents who neglect their kids for whatever reasons. It was a vivid reminder of what can happen when kids feel neglected and unloved. It also reminds us that no amount of material things can replace a parent's love and guidance. In this book, help came in the form of a school counselor, Heather, but how many in real life gets this kind of chance. The story was fact based, and intertwined with redemption through love and overcomming grief. While the sex scenes were not red hot, the storyline and the characters kept me entertained, and it was great visiting with Charles and Diane, and getting a glimpse of the beginning of their story.
