Jess Dee introduces her book as one that has been in her head for years. The characters just wouldn’t let her be until she wrote it. The result is a wonderful story about what happens when friends take their relationship to the next level. Daniel Tanner is a well-known photographer who has been taking photos of a children’s cancer wing a hospital. The photos will be auctioned off to raise money to redo the ward and make the lives of the children who are there a little brighter. Daniel knows that the assignment will be tough since his older sister fought and beat cancer as a child. He finds himself filled with memories as well as a sense that he needs to go after what he wants and not wait for it. So he decides it is time to make his feelings for his best friend known. He plans out and executes a seduction. He just hopes that he doesn’t lose everything. Amy Morgan has had her heart broken by men that she trusted. She doesn’t know how to trust and now all of a sudden the one man that she knows she can trust is changing their relationship. Amy has counted on Daniel to be her best friend for years. She knows him. She has seen him go through relationship after relationship and she knows that commitment is not his strong suit. Now she finds her feelings changing and she sees him as more than just a friend. The question is can she move their friendship to the next level without jeopardizing it? What happens when Daniel finishes with her? How can they go back to being friends? My favorite thing about this book is that the male point of view is so prevalent. Daniel really drives the story and is the one who wants things to change in their relationship. Usually it is the female who wants more out of a relationship. Having the male lead initiate it was a refreshing change. I will warn readers that this book has hot and heavy sex scenes. Ms. Dee holds nothing back so if you are someone who doesn’t want to read that type of book, than this is not for you. For the rest of us, the sex scenes may be steamy, but they are needed to move the story along. Without the physical chemistry between them, the friendship would not change at all.
