While Tami was born in Michigan, she spent eleven of her most developmental years living in Louisiana. This is why many of her books are based in Dallas, because visiting Dallas is what you do, when you live in Louisiana.
When she got married, she did what most midwesterners do and moved back home. (At least, that’s what they do until they retire, and then they move to Florida.) Now, she spends winter days telling her daughter what a wimp she is, because when Tami was a kid, she used to walk to school through three feet of snow, barefoot, uphill both ways…
As far as her writing career goes, it’s pretty damn status quo. She was a bookworm as a kid. She started reading Harlequin romance far, far too young. And she started writing her own novels when she was in middle school. By hand. On wide rule paper. In cursive. She still has some of those novels. They like to hang out with the dust bunnies under her bed.
Everything else about her is pretty much happening during present day, so doesn’t really fit in a section called, “The History of Tami.” But if you still want to know more, go hang out in her Facebook group, Come Wine with Tami, or join her newsletter list. Or just shoot her an email. She’s a fan of chatting with, um, fans.
